A tribute is paid to conductor Pierre Boulez in this mythical programme which brings together two major premieres for the master from Montbrison: the opera that marked his Bayreuth debut (Parsifal) and the first work by Anton Bruckner he conducted at the head of the Wiener Philharmoniker (the monumental Symphony No. 8), which was also the ultimate cathedral of sound that he included in his repertoire.
