Sandbox Percussion: Seven Pillars

The exhilarating Sandbox Percussion returns to 92NY with a signature production: acclaimed new-music composer Andy Akiho’s lush, immersive Seven Pillars – a work The New York Times wrote, “casts a new kind of spell.”

Akiho’s evening-length Seven Pillars was commissioned by and dedicated to Sandbox Percussion. Featuring glockenspiel, vibraphone, bowed marimba, and more, the enthralling work became a Pulitzer Prize finalist, earned two Grammy nominations, and has captivated audiences from Paris to Beijing.

This concert is the first of two Sandbox Percussion concerts this season featuring the music of Andy Akiho.
