Join Sarah Connolly to enjoy Berlioz’s dramatic song cycle Les nuits d’été. Based on the poems of his friend Théophile Gautier, Berlioz explores six stages of love, from joyful youth to everlasting life.

Collaborating again with OAE, celebrated mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly is an expert with these songs. They are matched in this concert with works by Mendelssohn. The tale of fair Melusine is an exploration of mythical love, before the concert reaches a climax with the vivid, upbeat Symphony no.4.
