Created by Mikīs Theodōrakīs, who reworked the score he had composed for the 1964 film Zorba the Greek (based on the book of the same name by Nikos Kazantzakis), and choreographed by Lorca Massine, the ballet made its debut at the Arena in August 1988, starring Vladimir Vasiliev and Gheorghe Iancu. Since that world premiere, Zorba the Greek has toured stages all over the world and returns to Verona at the Teatro Romano. Ready to dance to the rhythm of the sirtaki once again?
