En juin, le GTG offre la possibilité rare d'entendre comme un cycle trois des opéras de Donizetti sur le thème des Tudor, dans une mise en scène de Mariame Clément.

A hugely successful composer of bel canto opera, Gaetano Donizetti had a lasting impact, with many of his operas entering regular rotation in houses around the world for almost 200 years. 

Lord Byron’s influence on musicians was immense – with Rossini, Verdi, Berlioz, Liszt, Tchaikovsky and Schoenberg among the many composers to create works inspired by his writings.

Bergamo’s Donizetti Opera festival was the opportunity “to give a signal that it’s still possible to stage opera and to do it well.”
