Sumptuous costumes, brilliant colors, excellent dancers create a glorious show which is unfortunately too long for the material. 

Great story, colorful costumes and sets, dozens of performers all add up to the annual extravaganza of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker. Pacific Northwest Ballet's superb artists portray its wonders again.

A finale to Pacific Northwest’s Ballet’s 2018-1019 season sends the audience home with memories of satisfying new work, appreciation of the old, and shaken to the core by a Limón performance.

The seven world premieres all bore a certain unity, lacking and joy or wit, although Gary Abbott's Parallel Lives stands out.  

This season's Director's Choice presents three works by choreographers Justin Peck, Alejandro Cerrudo and Paul Gibson, who, according to PNB Artistic Director Peter Boal, are among the "truly gifted" of our time.  

Emergence is certainly the draw in this program, but the other works are also worth admiring.
