Built between 1935 and 1938 by Belgian architect Joseph Diongre, the former National Institute for Radio Broadcasting soon became known as the “sound factory”, one of Europe’s first broadcasting buildings. Nicknamed the Steamship, Flagey won international acclaim for the qualities of its studios, especially Studio 4, later renovated by Philippe Samyn. Restored and given a new purpose in 2002, this Art Deco landmark by the Ixelles ponds is now a Brussels culture house devoted to music, film and artistic exchange.

The main hall of Flagey is the Studio 4, with a capacity of 862 seats (502 ground floor, 300 balconies, 60 on stage). Its' smaller, more intimate counterpart, Studio 1, has a capacity of 156 seats. Apart from these main halls, Flagey also has Foyers that can host up to 850 people.
There is no specific dress code, visitors are welcome to dress as they prefer. For concerts in Studio 4, a secured cloackroom service is made available free of charge.
Visitors with reduced mobility are warmly welcome at Flagey - all studios are fully accessible for wheelchair users. The Studio 5 hall (the cinema) is equipped with an audio induction loop to support visitors with hearing impairments. To ensure the most comfortable experience and seating tailored to your specific needs, we kindly invite you to contact the venue in advance at ticket@flagey.be
While family facilities are currently limited, Flagey does offer a baby changing table conveniently located on the ground floor and easily accessible from all studios.
Flagey does not have a restaurant onsite, but drinks and snacks are available at one of their bars before and after the concert. The main bar opens one hour before each concert until the closing of Flagey. It is located on the ground floor in the lobby. Two bars located on the 2nd floor are open before and after the concerts taking place in Studio 4, as well as during the break (if one is included in the programme).
