À Radio France, Cristian Măcelaru propose une lecture plutôt intimiste de la Symphonie n° 4 de Brahms, et relie le compositeur à son ami Johann Strauss fils, chanté par Fatma Said.

Ludovic Morlot and the Atlanta Symphony start the new year with bland perfromances of the Waltz King and Brahms. 

Along with Die Fledermaus and Der Zigeunerbaron, Wiener Blut is generally considered to be Johann Strauss’s most popular operetta, although it is really a pasticcio for which Adolf Müller recycled parts of 31 popular dance pieces, artistically weaving various motifs into a new score.
