Love, power, morality, corruption… Monteverdi’s final masterpiece The Coronation of Poppea is often described as his greatest achievement, combining mythic and very human themes, and featuring some of his most glorious music.

To direct, we’re thrilled to be welcoming back an old friend: James Conway, General Director of English Touring Opera, whose Handel productions at the RCM have been runaway hits.

This RCM opera production is supported by the proceeds of Nuit Fantastique Gala and the Britten Theatre Anniversary Fund.
