Performer: Eiji Oue

A fine Planets from Eiji Oue and the Belgrade Philharmonic crowned a splendid concert despite a flawed “Neptune” after Simone Rubino had explored the music of the Earth.

Eiji Oue doesn't quite convince in Bernstein and Copland, but Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto proves a winner. 

Dickensian good cheer and humour make for a remarkably satisfying performance from Oue, Fray and the NSO.
