For one night only, audiences in Frankfurt were treated to some world class ballet on the expansive stage of the Jahrhunderthalle.

Ballet Icons Gala 2025 was the 19th since its inception. One can only applaud the dedication of Olga Balakleets, Founder and Artistic Director, for bringing many of the world’s most eminent dancers.

Two years after the death of Patrick Dupond, the Paris Opera Ballet paid tribute to him in a sumptuous gala evening, with the procession of the Ballet’s stars and the the performance of three of Dupond’s most emblematic works.

Entre une pièce des années 1950 de Balanchine et les deux créations récentes des chorégraphes Mthuthuzeli November et Christopher Wheeldon, le programme mixte néo-classique produit un effet mitigé.

Le célèbre ballet créé en 1876 au Palais Garnier fait son entrée au répertoire de l'Opéra national de Paris dans une version « rétro » signée Manuel Legris qui peine à convaincre.

Le ballet remonté par Pierre Lacotte en 2001 est un classique du répertoire de l’Opéra de Paris qui permet de voir de nouveaux talents faire leurs preuves sur scène en cette fin d'année.
