A hoary old production of an operatic warhorse is brought to quite energetic life by a sparkling cast and excellent musical and dramatic performance.

Directing Entführung at the grand old age of 85, John Copley gives us plenty of fun in the Pasha's palace. 

Despite a great cast, the Metropolitan Opera's revival of Semiramide bores with tacky costumes and no direction.
