Performer: Modigliani Quartet

Dreisig, Degout, Jaroussky – the cream of French singing puts the history of female composers on show for International Women's Day.

The Paris-based Quatuor Modigliani are joined by special guests for an evening of Schubert quintets in Évian-les-Bains. 

An all-Schumann chamber music concert doesn’t come around that often even at the Wigmore Hall, so I was delighted that the Modigliani Quartet presented a programme of his major chamber works with pianist Beatrice Rana.

To lose a player on the eve of a tour is nothing short of a disaster for a string quartet. However, substitute cellist Christophe Morin fits in well with the rest of the Modigliani Quartet in a revised program in Sydney.

Dans un programme qui allait de Turina au Souvenir de Florence de Tchaïkovski en passant par Debussy, le quatuor a montré un même sens éblouissant du collectif.
