Performer: Yuja Wang

Yuja Wang tackles piano concertos by Bartók and Barber – plus three encores – to delight the Musikverein audience before the Wiener Symphoniker plays persuasive Schumann.

Yuja Wang and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra frame Chopin’s E minor concerto with two Prokofiev works, the First Symphony and Second Piano Concerto.

If Prokofiev’s original intention in his Second Piano Concerto was shock and awe, Yuja Wang gives exactly the right performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Yuja Wang returns to the New York Philharmonic with Rautavaara’s dazzling First Piano Concerto in a probing program curated and conducted by Thomas Adès.

Yuja Wang does double duty in demanding piano concertos by Ravel and Ligeti, while conductor Petr Popelka shows his chemistry with the orchestra in Pictures at an Exhibition.

With a spiralling staircase accessing a rooftop observation platform, the Grand Opera’s open architecture is intended to welcome visitors whether they attend a performance or not.

The early work of Ravel’s, Prélude et danse de Sémiramis, from a partially lost cantata, has not been performed since it was composed in 1902.

The renowned violinist speaks about the clarity of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, keeping repertoire fresh, his love of chamber music, and how it informs his conducting.
