Work: Cello Sonata in A minor, Op.36

The self-styled “world’s largest chamber music party” ends an eventful festival with rare early Shostakovich, Grieg’s full-blooded Cello Sonata and Appalachian Spring heard in its original scoring for 13 instruments. 

French pianist Kim Bernard, the first laureate of the Fondation Gautier Capuçon, performs with the Foundation's founder at London's Wigmore Hall.
