Work: Romeo and Juliet, Fantasy Overture

Virtuosic Alina Ibragimova joins the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal for a dynamite performance of Stravinsky’s Violin Concerto, while youthful conductor Hankyeol Yoon leads polished Rachmaninov. 

Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky are welcome in Singapore, sumptuously served up by Benjamin Schmid and Hans Graf.

There is a feast of inspiration for composers in the story of Romeo and Juliet, Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev each responding differently. Randall Goosby provides an excellent contrast in Mozart’s musical sunshine.
