In the middle of a dark winter, Kirill Petrenko's interpretation of Dutilleux's First Symphony and Bartók's The Wooden Prince brightens the Grand Hall of Berlin's Philharmonie with a variety of colours.

The opening of Henri Dutilleux’s Symphony no. 1, with its distinctive pizzicato opening full of tension and curiosity, opened the concert not with a bang but rather a seductive lure.
