Silvia Poletti was a professional dance writer, contributing to the culture pages of the daily news www.sole24ore.com and Corriere della Sera/Corriere Fiorentino and collaborated to specialist magazines such as Danza &Danza, Tanz, Dance International. She prepared essays and conferences about dance for the principal Italian festivals and opera houses and was lecturer of History of Dance at the Urbino Carlo Bo University and Venice Ca’ Foscari University. She was the author of the monography ‘John Neumeier’ (Palermo, L’Epos 2004).
