Imogen Whitehead, principal trumpet of the Britten Sinfonia and a fast-rising soloist, presents a lyrical and wide-ranging programme with pianist Patrick Milne. From Gershwin’s swing to folk-inspired melodies and a new work by Peter Walton, the programme showcases Whitehead’s expressive style – described as ‘impeccable’ (BBC Radio 3). Her duo partner, Patrick Milne, known for his work with the Royal Ballet and Opera, brings sensitivity and nuance praised by Gramophone. Their recital offers both beauty and boldness in equal measure.
