In this one‑hour recital, Gülsin Onay, one of Turkey’s most distinguished pianists, presents a wide‑ranging programme devoted to Frédéric Chopin.
The programme includes the lively Variations brillantes op.12 and the expansive Andante spianato et Grande Polonaise brillante, alongside the lyricism of Ballade No.3 and the dark intensity of the Nocturne in F sharp minor op.48 no.2.
The recital concludes with Chopin’s Sonata in B minor op.58, one of his most ambitious piano works, unfolding across four contrasting movements from the commanding Allegro maestoso to a driven final movement.
