Ornate, ebullient, intricate and magnificent
– Mozart might not have finished his ‘Great’
Mass in C minor, but it still forms the crowning
masterpiece of his Vienna years. By turns
blazingly joyous and at times intimately
sombre, here it follows another work from
Mozart’s pen that’s stalked by darkness but
ultimately transforms itself into one of his
most life-affirming: the deliciously moody
‘Prague’ Symphony.
