Due to illness Truls Mørk is unable to perform at this evening’s Prom. The BBC is delighted to announce that Alexey Stadler will replace him performing Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No 1, as billed, and is very grateful to Alexey for stepping in at such short notice.
Vasily Petrenko conducts Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto, with soloist Truls Mørk, and Rachmaninov’s Symphony No.3. But before that, there’s the world premiere of Emily Howard’s Torus.
