| Ruth Rogers | Violin |
| Martin Cousin | Piano |
Please note that this concert was originally advertised to be performed by the Halcyon Quartet. The Halcyon Quartet have withdrawn from this concert, and we are pleased that Ruth Rogers and Martin Cousin have agreed to return to Conway Hall for this performance.
Ruth Rogers, Leader of the London Mozart Players and the Brighton Philharmonic, and Martin Cousin, her partner in the Aquinas Piano Trio, bring four great violin sonatas. Beethoven’s sunny Spring opens the evening, followed by Poulenc’s sonata of 1943, written in memory of Federico García Lorca. After the interval come Debussy’s last major work, which he premiered himself in 1917, and Franck’s A major Sonata, a wedding present for Eugène Ysaÿe.
