Success can come fast in the music world. German-Romanian baritone Konstantin Krimmel is a prime example: at 33, he is the youngest singer to debut in the Grote Zangers series. ‘As a master storyteller, he captivates you from the very first note,’ wrote the Edison jury about the album Mythos. Accompanied by his regular pianist Ammiel Bushakevitz, he performs songs by Schumann, Vaughan Williams and Brahms, alongside rarely performed works by the Romanian composer Eusebius Mandyczewski.
Krimmel graduated in 2020 and is now a soloist with the Bavarian State Opera and a highly sought-after lieder singer. With five award-winning albums already under his belt, including an Edison, his success has been nothing short of a rocket start. As Het Parool put it: ‘his voice is well worth travelling for’.
