An evening of first-class music making from one of the UK's top orchestras in a varied programme that showed off the strengths of all concerned.  

A sprightly MTT seemed to be in the right place among the fellows of the New World Symphony, his brainchild, in a program where youth was prevalent.

The RSNO continues its cycle of Prokofiev’s Piano Concertos to celebrate its 125th season, coupled with some Russian fairy-tale magic and a rare outing for Rachmaninov’s Third Symphony.

Valery Gergiev led an athletic pilgrimage through composer-pianist Sergei Prokofiev’s five Piano Concerti, in numerical order, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

What on paper might have looked like a circus act – wheeling out three pianists to plough through Prokofiev’s five piano concertos – turned out to be a fascinating opportunity to compare and contrast.

A l'occasion de l'intégrale des concertos de Prokofiev à la Philharmonie par Gergiev et l'Orchestre du Mariinsky, cette deuxième soirée nous donne à entendre les concertos 4 et 5, par Sergueï Redkin et Vadim Kholodenko.  

Le 23 octobre 2015, l’Auditorium de Radio France accueillait comme tous les vendredis un concert de l’Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France. Au programme ce soir-là, de la musique russe : Tchaïkovski, Prokofiev, Stravinsky. Une soirée réussie, notamment grâce à la présence du célèbre pianiste Nicholas Angelich.
