The Budapest Festival Orchestra travel up the Danube, bringing Brahms back to Vienna with affectionate, passionate performances of the Violin Concerto and the Third Symphony. 

Folk-derived pieces dominate this programme, with Anja Bihlmaier and the BBC Philharmonic traversing Coleridge-Taylor, Brahms and Bartók, and the latest Asian shooting star Bomsori assaying that concerto by Bruch.

Day One of an innovative two-day festival brings a range of orchestral showpieces and contemporary works in a series of one hour concerts.
