Five of the best-known dance companies based in New York City have united for a weeklong program every summer since COVID. This year they shared a stage but stuck to their own rep.  

As we reached the end of season gala, Ballett am Rhein offered up a selection of highlights from the past four seasons in celebration of outgoing Artistic Director, Demis Volpi.

NDT2 is an excellent company, presenting fresh, interesting and exceptionally well-performed pieces in this new tour.

If the number of bare male chests exposed on the stage at Sadler’s Wells this week is meant to suggest a symbolic baring of the male psyche then the Dutch National Ballet (DNB) underwent a good deal of soul searching in their celebration of Hans Van Manen’s work. Their resident choreographer has created 120 ballets in his sixty year career and in this programme DNB performs five.
