The Rape of Lucretia: a shockingly powerful take at RCS

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland perform Haydn’s seldom heard opera in a lively and finely sung ensemble production, directed by Jamie Manton. 

RCS Opera moves in Heggie’s emotional Three Decembers and chills in Menotti’s The Medium directed in the studio by Matthew Eberhardt, chamber ensembles ably conducted by William Cole.

The spirited principals and chorus of the Royal Conservatoire Scotland are directed by PF Harris in Chabrier’s fizzing opéra bouffe.

The RCS performs Jonathan Dove’s Flight with his specially commissioned reduced orchestration, with very fine ensemble singing. 

A heartfelt performance of Die Dreigroschenoper from the RSC Opera students in Glasgow, Caroline Clegg directing a tight ensemble and Philip White conducting a sprightly band.

Dead Man Walking receives its UK stages premiere at RCS with two barnstorming central performances and a huge cast. Conductor James Holmes brought this modern American classic to passionate life.
