They say you should never meet your heroes. But they don’t say anything about them meeting each other, so I had very little idea of what to expect at Kings Place on Monday night when comedian Stewart Lee performed John Cage. In the event, this was a hugely enjoyable short recital, though I do wonder if it wasn’t a bit funnier than should really be expected from a Cage gig.

There is a famous scene in the noir classic The Third Man in which Joseph Cotten returns to his hotel and is swiftly bundled into a cab that speeds off recklessly through the streets of Vienna.

Im Rahmen der Styriarte stellte sich Dirigentin Oksana Lyniv dem Grazer Publikum erstmals vor und sorgte mit märchenhaftem Tschaikowsky für Euphorie.

Mit durchdachtem Prorgamm und himmlischen Schönklang wird mir Alamire mit diesem Kölner Auftritt noch lange im Gedächtnis bleiben.

Nicht unbedingt lustig, aber dafür musikalisch wunderschön präsentierte sich die letzte SOAP des Styriarte-Sommers.
