A stunning Mozart piano concerto with Angela Hewitt and a dazzling recent piece are framed by serious but uplifting orchestral works by Britten and Strauss.

A bold programme from an orchestra with a bold sound as the ISO trails in the wake of Storm Ciara on its debut UK tour. 

In its opening concert of the season, the Philharmonia gave two of Sibelius' symphonies with two modern pieces by a pair of Iceland's finest young composers, which made for rewarding listening.
