Cuban-born Rafael de Acha moved to the United States to study at the Juilliard School of Music, and later at the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music, and at the New England Conservatory of Music, from which he received the Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music. Rafael co-founded New Theatre in Miami, Florida, where he produced twenty seasons of classical and contemporary theater. He now writes and teaches in Cincinnati, Ohio.
After an exhausting multiple rehearsal week the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra kicked off its current season with a rousing reading of Beethoven’s Fidelio Overture.
