Originally from Tennessee, Carolyn Craig is assistant Director of Music at Wells Cathedral, having held organ scholarships at Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral. Her programme presents a wide range of musical styles, from the minimalism of Ad Wammes’ Miroir, to William Walton’s version of Edwardian self-confidence and Naji Hakim’s reimagining of George Gershwin. At the centre of the concert is César Franck’s Choral No 2, an intensely personal and dramatic work with a hushed and serene ending.
