Russian-American violinist Maria Ioudenitch captured the attention of music lovers worldwide in 2021 when she received first prizes in the Ysaÿe, Tibor Varga, and Joseph Joachim international violin competitions. Lauded for her “fearless technical virtuosity and expressive richness” (Bachtrack), she makes her PCMS recital debut with pianist Sahun Sam Hong in a program that opens with one of Beethoven’s most overtly cheerful works, his Spring violin sonata and concludes with Brahms’ first violin sonata, a deeply lyrical piece that highlights themes of nostalgia and lost innocence.
