The fifth and final violin concerto by W. A. Mozart premiered at a concert in Salzburg in December 250 years ago, with the 19-year-old composer himself as a soloist. The concerto is the most extensive of all Mozart's violin concertos, bursting with imagination and playfulness, and unexpected changes in tempo and rhythm stretch the concerto format into new directions. American Noah Bendix-Balgley is the 1st Concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, but also regularly appears as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras.

Anton Bruckner's Seventh Symphony is one of the composer's best-known symphonies and is considered one of the cornerstones of late Romantic symphony. The reception of the symphony marked a turning point in Bruckner's career and placed him among the foremost symphonic composers of the 19th century. Richard Wagner, a great role model for Bruckner, died shortly before the symphony was completed, and many believe that Bruckner's respect for the opera composer is reflected in various ways in the symphony.
