Pianist Hisako Kawamura was awarded the 51st Suntory Music Award in 2019 for her uniquely expressive and passionate musical performances. She has been commended for the deliberate way she gives shape to her performances. But the other things that set her apart from the rest are the surprisingly endless excitement from an almost cat-like agility and never-ending moments of musical vitality she adds to that foundation.
