Currently Principal Bassoon of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich and Lucerne Festival Orchestra, Matthias Rácz performs regularly as soloist at many important music festivals worldwide and has received critical acclaim for his outstanding playing.
In his Hong Kong début, Rácz will perform Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto in B-flat under the baton of conductor Ken Lam, who is currently Music Director of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. The programme also features Messiaen’s Les Offrandes Oubliées (The Forgotten Offerings) and Beethoven’s Symphony No 3 in E-flat, “Eroica”.
