The meeting of three international performance legends - the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Zubin Mehta and pianist Jan Lisiecki - promises to be an unforgettable musical experience. The pianist will visit Latvia for the first time, although he has inspired pianists of multiple generations through listening, admiring and imitating his interpretations. Along with Zubin Mehta and his orchestra, Lisiecki will perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 - a work which sparkles with the spirit of improvisation, a completely free and exciting musical direction, in which silence has just as much significance as sound. Only true masters can achieve this!

Pianist Jan Lisiecki will replace pianist Murray Perahia on August 24 at 7pm at the Riga Jurmala Music Festival in the performance with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Zubin Mehta. Unfortunately, Murray Perahia has had to withdraw from this engagement due to ill health, as well as engagements at the Salzburg Festival, the BBC Proms in London and the Lucerne Festival. The program will remain unchanged: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major op. 58 and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D Major.
