A major figure of French pianism, Roger Muraro maintains a unique connection to the universe of Olivier Messiaen, with whom he was very close. He has become one of his foremost interpreters: he has recorded the complete piano works and champions this music on the world’s great stages.
Muraro now reprises the cycle of the Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant-Jésus. Composed during the Second World War, this monument of nearly two hours of music ranks among the summits of the 20th century: twenty meditations in which faith, birdsong, and colours merge into a sonic architecture of rare imaginative power.
