Esa-Pekka Salonen et Benjamin Millepied ont uni musique et danse dans un beau programme où le Rituel in memoriam Bruno Maderna de Pierre Boulez a pris une dimension supplémentaire.

Malgré un bon nombre de moments authentiquement réussis, le biopic dansé conçu par le chorégraphe français paraît bien long et répétitif, avec un usage excessif de la vidéo.

Le L.A. Dance Project présente un programme où quatre esthétiques fondamentalement différentes se côtoient : une conception artistique très intéressante. Retour sur la variété de ces écritures contemporaines made in L.A.  

Le LA Dance Project présente à Paris trois ballets de Benjamin Millepied, dont une création mondiale. Une soirée passionnante, où se côtoient des univers bien distincts, tous très prenants, et magistralement interprétés.

Le Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris célèbre Maurice Ravel et les liens qui unissent le compositeur à la danse, à travers deux œuvres composées pour le ballet : Daphnis et Chloé et le célèbre Boléro.

L.A. Dance Project, collectif fondé et dirigé par Benjamin Millepied, est de retour à Paris au Théâtre des Champs Elysées avec un programme néoclassique mêlant Martha Graham, William Forsythe, Justin Peck et Benjamin Millepied.

Le Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris présente deux créations; Tombe, de Jérôme Bel et La Nuit s’achève, de Benjamin Millepied ainsi que Les Variations Goldberg de Jerome Robbins. Mais si les programmes mixtes permettent de mettre en perspective différents points de vue, il faut encore que les œuvres trouvent à se répondre.

Une célébration de la danse néo-classique techniquement bien exécutée, dont on aurait aimé une interprétation plus vibrante.

Le programme intitulé Balanchine/Millepied réunit ce mois-ci deux œuvres néoclassiques, Le Palais de Cristal, créé pour l’Opéra de Paris en 1947 et Daphnis et Chloé, dans une nouvelle chorégraphie composée cette année par Benjamin Millepied.

Alexei Ratmansky and Justin Peck are all the more impressive among choreographers working today because of how many of their works seem destined to stay in the repertoire for a long time to come.

From the ethereal to the galavanting, the program offered a spectrun of emotions delivered with precise technique and abandoned energy. 

There is some good dancing in Benjamin Millepied's I Felt the Earth Move but it missed the mark as far as emotional content is concerned.

The company of ten is filled with very well trained dancers, mostly from Juilliard’s highly regarded dance program, and they are all quite good.
