Rentrée en demi-teinte pour l'Orchestre de l'Opéra de Lyon qui ouvre sa saison par une série de concerts symphoniques, avec ce soir un Stéphane Degout particulièrement inspiré en dépit d'un chef moins convaincant. 

Jamie Phillips dirige avec une joie communicative un Orchestre de la Suisse Romande en forme et qui virevoltera d’Haydn en Prokofiev dans un bonheur juvénile, à l’instar du Concerto de Haydn sous l’archet d’un Johannes Moser enjoué !

On paper it all seemed so alluring: a tuneful opening suite, one of the raciest warhorses in the stable and a national icon to close with. However, the reality in Grieg, Tchaikovsky and Elgar was somewhat different.

Few things could unite such a large group of people as the Hallé’s Meistersinger did tonight. Some 515 performers, drawn from three orchestras and five choirs, gathered to present highlights from the first two acts of Wagner’s opera and the third act in full.
