Limpidité, modération, expressivité : c’est à cette trinité de principes qu'a semblé se vouer le chef, à la tête d'une très belle interprétation de l'oratorio de Haydn à Montréal.

Un programme harmonieux, couronné d’une œuvre exaltante, un enchaînement sensible, une mise en scène efficace, des prestations investies : l'Orchestre symphonique de Montréal a réservé à son public un concert mémorable.

Dans un programme très bien conçu, Kensho Watanabe dirige un Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal en belle forme. Karina Gauvin s'illustre dans des lieder d'Alma Mahler.

L’Orchestre Métropolitain, son chœur affilié et trois chanteurs solistes livraient dimanche dernier un concert intitulé « Yannick Nézet-Séguin et l’âme russe », sous la baguette du chef éponyme. Si l’on tient compte de la flamboyance du jeu, de la clarté des tableaux, du chatoiement des couleurs orchestrales, ce n’est pas l’âme russe qui a été révélée cet après-midi-là, mais bien plutôt celle du chef d’orchestre.

L’Orchestre KlangVerwaltung et le chef Enoch zu Guttenberg, en compagnie du chœur Chorgemeinschaft Neubeuern, proposaient vendredi dernier à la Maison symphonique de Montréal deux œuvres majeures du répertoire choral : le Magnificat de Bach et le Requiem de Mozart. Ce concert était présenté dans le cadre d’une tournée nord-américaine visant à souligner les 20 années d’existence de l’orchestre.

Quoiqu’on l’ait sentie moins à son aise au départ, Hélène Grimaud a livré une performance remarquable et une lecture tout à fait heureuse de la partition.
