Dans un programme 100% français qui représente pourtant le cœur de leur répertoire, l'orchestre et son directeur musical ont paru empruntés, au contraire d'un Seong-Jin Cho inspiré dans Saint-Saëns.

Mardi 15 et mercredi 16 juillet, les concerts donnés à 18h dans la Salle Pasteur du Corum étaient consacrés aux compositrices pionnières. Les interprètes ont pris plaisir à sortir de l’ombre des œuvres méconnues, à la beauté inédite : une excellente initiative doublée d’une réalisation impeccable.

Marking their 20th anniversary with a celebratory tour, Les Siècles perform French classics at the Barbican under their twinkle-toed founder, François-Xavier Roth. 

Shelley led an unusual mix of English music by Walton, Coleridge-Taylor and Delius, with a poignant addition of two small works by the young Lili Boulanger.

Daniil Trifonov's radiant reading of Beethoven's Emperor Concerto, and two impressive works by Lili Boulanger and Louise Farrenc, as Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads the Philadelphia Orchestra.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra led by Andris Nelsons performs Boulanger, Debussy and Puccini. 

To works by Mendelssohn and Schumann, Søndergård added music by two impressive female composers who died far too young and whose works are far less known than they should be, Lili Boulanger and Morfydd Owen. 

Conductor JoAnn Falletta, violinist Alexi Kenney and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra offer up vibrant and vital interpretations of Boulanger, Mozart and Brahms.
