This melodrama by the Austrian composer is based on a selection of 21 poems by Albert Giraud. And it will serve to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Arnold Schoenberg, who in composing this work was extremely inspired by the verses of poems about love, religion, sex, violence, crime or blasphemy.
