Sylvain commence l’étude du piano à l’âge de 7 ans. Après un DEM de piano, Sylvain poursuit assidûment la pratique de la musique, sans négliger sa passion pour la littérature et la poésie. Son exigence esthétique l‘oriente également vers les mathématiques. Élève normalien à l’École Normale Supérieure et agrégé de mathématiques, Sylvain poursuit une thèse de géométrie algébrique consacrée à des questions de géométrie anabélienne dans les espaces de Berkovich.
