One of the most popular zarzuelas by Amaddeu Vives, directed by Lluís Pasqual and starring María Moreno and Celso Albelo.

This famous zarzuela by Amadeu Vives – the composer from Collbató, near Barcelona – returns to the Gran Teatre del Liceu in a production by Lluís Pasqual, who has revamped the spoken dialogues to offer a fresh view of Vives' prime masterpiece. He also sets the love affairs of Fernando, Francisquita, Don Matías and Aurora “la Beltrana” in three different periods, with sets designed by Alejandro Andújar. The title has been coproduced by the Liceu and Madrid's Teatro de la Zarzuela.

The cast is headed by the successful tandem of Celso Albelo and María José Moreno.
