There was a delicious chocolate-colored texture to the low bass akin to what Great British Bake-Off aficionados would recognize as the foundation of a great Sachertorte.

Not only was the production devoid of Druids or Romans, it turned Bellini’s bel canto masterpiece into an implausible, trite, contemporary crypto-Che Guevara misadventure.  

Eine wahre Rarität des Repertoires wurde konzertant auf die Bühne gebracht und insbesondere das glanzvoll schwelgende Orchester macht den Abend hörenswert.
