The Elbphilharmonie is regarded as Hamburg’s landmark worldwide. The modern concert hall was designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron and opened in 2017. Per season some 900,000 enthusiastic music lovers come to hear concerts in the Grand and Recital Halls. Hamburg boasts another excellent concert hall in the venerable Laeiszhalle, completed in 1908.
