If you would like to hear one of the most beautiful oboe solos in orchestral music, don’t miss Richard Strauss Don Juan. A love scene is depicted in the middle of the piece that begins with a sweet and seductive oboe melody infused with both tenderness and erotic undertones.
The orchestral poem also depicts the more lascivious episodes of Don Juan’s adventures in love, in an incredible orchestral sound that is full of verve and action. No one is safe in Don Juan’s tragic and fruitless search for the ideal woman.
