Work: String Quartet in G minor, Op.27

A programme consisting of works from three different centuries illustrated the French ensemble's versatility and acumen. 

The Takács Quartet’s memorable performance was anchored by Grieg’s less-trodden string quartet, prefaced by works of Haydn and Shostakovich.

Scottish Ensemble’s “Nordic Nights” programme at St John's Kirk in Perth was lively and passionate mixing old and new pieces.
