A true living legend of the violin, Gidon Kremer is joined by Mikhail Pletnev, Giedre Dirvanauskaitė, and Maxim Rysanov for an evening exploring various forms of chamber music, from the Classical period to the early Romantic era.

The two giants, Kremer and Pletnev, driven by an unwavering musical communion and close collaborators at the Easter Festival since its inception, act as the center of gravity for this evening. Alone, they perform Schubert's Sonata “Grand Duo” D. 574, with its exuberant lyricism. With Giedre Dirvanauskaitė, member of Kremerata Baltica and Kremer's favorite partner, the duo performs Beethoven's Trio “À l'Archiduc,” the crowning achievement of his corpus and a model for future composers. Finally, violist Maxim Rysanov, who like Pletnev is also a conductor, joins them for Mozart's First Piano Quartet, a work of the highest inspiration.
